Description
Microprocessor-controlled charger for 12-volt lead-acid batteries. Two performance ranges enable use on motorcycle as well as car and start-stop batteries.
Operating modes
- Motorcycle mode: maximum 1A for batteries 3-100Ah
- Auto/start-stop mode: maximum 5A for batteries 15-150Ah
- Suitable for wet, gel, maintenance-free, VRLA, AGM and Ca/Ca batteries
- Long-lasting preservation during longer downtimes
Automatic loading algorithm
- Initialization: Check for shorted cells and charging capability.
- Recovery: Resuscitation attempt with deeply discharged batteries from 1.25 V.
- Light load: Pulsating current for severely discharged batteries.
- Main load: Charge at full power to approximately 85-90% of capacity.
- Desulfation: Controlled charging to restore remaining capacity and possible desulfurization of lead-acid cells.
- Analysis: Check whether the battery can hold its charge.
- Condition: Long-term charge retention without overcharging, overheating or water loss.
- Compensation: Equalization charge every 30 days during maintenance.
