The VERTEX GP Racer Choice forged piston was developed for the KTM 250 SX F from the 2016-2022 model year range. As a forged aluminum version with racing compression, it is tailored for use in performance-oriented four-stroke engines.

Well thought-out piston design

The shape and design of the piston crown supports an optimized flame front and enables the maximum permissible compression ratio to be achieved. Reinforcements stiffen the piston structure and reduce piston crown deformation under full load. A surface treatment serves to reduce friction.

The piston system includes a short piston pin and a chamfer with DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating. The locking ring with an external nose prevents twisting at high speeds. The extra-thin GNH piston ring made of gas nitrided steel is designed for increased wear resistance.
