The VERTEX GP Racer Choice forged piston is designed for the HUSQVARNA FC 250 from the 2016-2022 model year range. As a forged aluminum version with racing piston compression, it combines a precisely coordinated piston shape with design details for use in performance-oriented engines.

Function and construction

The design of the piston crown has been optimized to improve the flame front and achieve the maximum allowable compression ratio. Reinforcements stiffen the piston structure and support minimal deformation of the piston crown under full load.

A special surface treatment is used to reduce friction. The short piston pin has a chamfer with a DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating. The locking ring has a nose on the outside that prevents twisting at high speeds. The extra-thin GNH piston ring made of gas nitrided steel increases wear resistance.
