The VERTEX GP Racer Choice forged piston is designed as a forged aluminum piston for the GasGas MC 250 F Factory Edition from 2023-2025. Its design comes from development for motocross racing and combines piston compression designed for racing with specifically designed details for use in performance-oriented four-stroke engines.

Function and construction

• The optimized piston crown supports a favorable flame front and enables the maximum permissible compression ratio to be achieved.
• Reinforcements stiffen the piston structure and reduce piston crown deformation under full load.
• A surface treatment serves to reduce friction.
• The short piston pin has a DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating.
• The locking ring with a nose on the outside prevents twisting at high speeds.
• The extra-thin GNH piston ring made of gas nitrided steel increases wear resistance.
