Dakar conversion kit in Option 719 Aragonite design

The Option 719 Aragonite Kit combines the classic aesthetics of Paris-Dakar motorcycles with the technology and comfort of the BMW R 12 G/S. The comprehensive kit combines a high-capacity fuel tank with fairing, ergonomics, protection and exhaust components. All components are Plug & Play, no modifications to original parts are required, and the conversion remains fully reversible.

Option 719 Aragonite fuel tank

The original BMW crash bar specifically named in the manufacturer's instructions is not compatible with this tank. This also applies to the BMW auxiliary light brackets named there. BMW logos shown are not included. Pre-cut 3M double-sided adhesive tape for reusing the original tank logos is included.

Fenouil fairing

Made from ABS, the fairing brings the design of the legendary R80 GS PD to the R 12 G/S. It replaces the original windshield and provides aerodynamic protection. Integrated brackets and the required mounting hardware are included. The fairing is finished in Light White, Matte Black or Red; an extension is optionally available.

Comfort handlebar and protective pad

The easy-to-install off-road handlebar pad with Unit Garage logo protects the rider's face from the crossbar in the event of a fall. It measures 23,5 cm in length and 6 cm in diameter.

Rear fender and seat cover

The ABS rear fender is reminiscent of the lines of GS models from the 1980s. It is supplied painted, replaces the original trim under the seat and comes with installation instructions. The BMW logo shown in images is not included.

The rally seat cover made from high-quality synthetic leather replaces the original cover on the original rally seat. An additional inner foam layer increases comfort. A carrying handle and sealed seams are part of the design. For installation, remove the seat, detach the original cover after removing the staples, center the new cover and secure it with new staples. If unsure, installation by an upholsterer is recommended.

The exhaust system is not compatible with the left-side frame for BMW bags.

Engine guard and crash bars

The engine guard is made from 3 mm thick, anodized Peraluman light alloy. Its larger shape protects the engine, front exhaust headers and the exposed area of the catalytic converter. The cold-formed component features outlet openings and distinctive reinforcing ribs. Mounting hardware, vibration dampers and spacers are included.

The pair of crash bars is made from 25 mm steel tubing with a 2 mm wall thickness and highly durable powder coating. The double-sided protective tubing integrates with the motorcycle frame. Most maintenance work can be performed without removal. The bars are supplied with accessories and instructions and are compatible with original and suitable third-party cylinder head covers and guards.

CNC-machined engine covers

The two covers combine classic design elements from older BMW boxer engines with a modern shape. They are CNC-machined from solid material and are available either black anodized or sandblasted and anodized. Both versions feature machined fins and a logo. The covers fit the BMW R12 boxer engines of the R 12, R 12 nineT and R 12 G/S.

Passenger grab handle

The minimalist stainless-steel handle with highly durable powder coating gives the passenger a secure grip, helps secure luggage behind the seat and can assist when moving or supporting the motorcycle off-road. The required mounting kit is included. The two small original brackets for additional straps under the rear fender must be removed, as the handle serves the same purpose. It is compatible with all Unit Garage bag racks.

Installation and compatibility

The kit is intended for the BMW R 12 G/S. Instructions and video tutorials guide the conversion, which according to the manufacturer can be completed within a few hours. All components can be installed without modifying OEM parts and can be fully reverted to stock. Due to ongoing product improvements, images may show an earlier version.
