MALOSSI crankshaft for Vespa Primavera ET 3 from 1976 to 1983

The MALOSSI crankshaft is designed for the Vespa Primavera ET 3 in the entire model year range 1976-1983. As a central component of the drive, it transmits the movement between the connecting rod and piston and, in engines with rotating valves, controls the intake.

Version for rotating valve

In this version, the intake phase is integrated into the inner half crank. The special shape supports targeted flow guidance within the crankshaft. Tungsten parts are used as counterweights for balancing, which ensures that the shaft is guided stably.

Processing and construction

The “Viper Head” shape of the connecting rod combines reduced weight with the required rigidity. The thread on the gearbox side was also designed with a smoother gradation. An adjusted key position helps to protect the thread during assembly. The crankshaft includes special, reinforced nuts.
