PUIG R-Racer screen for the Honda CBR 1000 RR Fireblade SP2

The R-Racer screen combines PUIG's experience from MotoGP and WorldSBK with a sporty shape for the 2019 Honda CBR 1000 RR Fireblade SP2. Its contour, which is raised compared to the instrument unit, was developed to direct the airflow more strongly over the helmet and shoulders and to improve the aerodynamic efficiency compared to the standard screen.

Racing experience and aerodynamic development

PUIG developed the R-Racer line based on many years of competition experience and collaboration with teams from MotoGP and WorldSBK. The lens shape was tested in a virtual wind tunnel to optimize the aerodynamic coefficient. With a height of 200 mm above the instruments, the lens is designed to more specifically direct the wind that would otherwise hit the helmet and shoulders.

The 3 mm thick acrylic combines stability, low weight and durability. The rounded 2 mm edge meets the relevant safety controls of the German TÜV. An automated visual inspection system supports quality control of the finished pane.
