PUIG Downforce Naked side wings for the Kawasaki Z900

Race-inspired aerodynamics meet a distinctive, model-specific design: The PUIG Downforce Naked side wings were developed for the Kawasaki Z900 from model year 2017 onward. Their targeted airflow increases downforce on the front axle, supporting stability at high speeds, on straightaways and under hard braking.

Engineered airflow

The side-mounted spoiler elements feature two aerodynamically shaped arms with a teardrop cross-section. Arrow-shaped deflectors close off the resulting air channel. This design generates additional vertical downforce and counteracts front-end lift and weaving during hard acceleration and at high speeds.

Aerodynamic studies indicate 3.3 kg of additional downforce at top speed. This gives the front tire greater contact while stabilizing the motorcycle in a straight line, when turning in and under heavy deceleration.

Model-specific design

PUIG develops and manufactures these motorcycle components in Barcelona using modern aerodynamic and manufacturing technologies. The side wings follow the contours of the Kawasaki Z900, combining an aggressive racing look with functional airflow. They attach using the supplied metal brackets, with no drilling into the fairing required.
