The VERTEX GP Racer Choice forged piston was developed for the Husqvarna FC 250 from 2016 to 2022. Its forged aluminum design combines precise design for racing with construction details that are aimed at efficient and reliable engine operation.

Racing design with well thought-out details

The shape and design of the piston crown support a controlled flame front and are designed to achieve the maximum allowable compression ratio. Reinforcements stiffen the piston structure and reduce piston crown deformation under full load. This means that the piston is tailored to the special loads of a performance-oriented 4T engine.

The version has a surface treatment to reduce friction. The short piston pin and the DLC-coated chamfer complement the design. A locking ring with an external nose prevents twisting at high speeds. The extra-thin GNH piston ring made of gas nitrided steel supports increased wear resistance.
